It offers a variety of entertainment, culture and recreation with a riverboat casino, a riverfront walk and the home of the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Evansville. The Hands on Discover Children's museum, the LST 325 Warship and Mesker Park Zoo and Botanical Garden are also popular destination spots in Evansville. The Evansville Freedom Festival in July draws huge crowds for the fireworks, an air show downtown, and hydroplane races on the Ohio River.
